Employer Social Charges

Employers' Social Charges in Senegal are 24% of the employee's total gross remuneration, but with salary limits to reduce the real effect.

The Employer pension contribution (IPRES) is 8.4% for the general pension scheme, capped at CFA 432,000/month or CFA 5,184,000 per year (approx €7,900 per year.

For the supplementary pension scheme (reserved for executives « Cadres »), the rate is 3.6%, capped at CFA1,296,000/month or CFA15,552,000/year (approx €23)

The Social Security Fund (CSS) is 12%, capped at CFA 63,000/month or CFA 756,000/year (Euro 1150 per year).

In addition, there is a health insurance (IPM) which is capped at CFA30,000 per month CFA 360,000 per year (Euro550 per year) from the employer and 10,000 CFA francs from the employee.  The IPM contribution does not apply if the company provides private insurance coverage to employees.

Additional costs for Employers

There is also a Employer payroll tax of (CFCE) = 3% of the gross monthly taxable salary.... and each employee is entitled to an end-of-contract indemnity of 7% of their cumulative remuneration during their service.

If an employee has not taken vacation, he or she is entitled to vacation pay after 12 months of actual service (1/12 of the 12 gross taxable salaries)

Charges Patronales

  • La Caisse de Sécurité Sociale (CSS) est de 12%, plafonnée à CFA 63 000/mois ou

CFA 756 000/an (Euro 1150 par an).

  • De plus, il existe une assurance maladie (IPM) qui est plafonnée a CFA30,000 par mois CFA 360,000 par an (Euro550 par an) part patronale et 10 000 F CFA part salariale.  La cotisation IPM ne s’applique pas si l’entreprise fournit une couverture d’assurance privée aux employés

Couts additionnels pour Employeurs

  • Il y a aussi un impot (CFCE) = 3% du salaire brut imposable mensuel.
  • et chaque employé a le droit a une indemnité de fin de contrat de 7% de sa remuneration cumulative pendant son service.
  • Si un employé n’a pas pris ses vacances il a le droit a une indemnité de congés après 12 mois de service effectif (1/12 des 12 salaires bruts imposables)

TAXABLE GROSS SALARY:
Items such as basic salary, sub-salary, overtimes, housing allowance, etc. Transport and food allowances are among nontaxable items.
IR:
The Tax on income revenue which will be paid by employee to the State of Senegal. The more children the employee has, the less he will be paying as IR. For each given gross salary we have a fixed amount to pay as IR. There is a scale of contributions which has been published by Labour Ministry.
TRIMF:
A tax to be paid by employee as per his marital status. It turns around 300 F CFA up to 3000 F CFA or more than this.
IPRES:
It is the Senegalese Retirement Institution. It is the legal contribution for retirement and its rate is 5.6% (Ceiling amount 432, 000 F CFA) if not senior employee. If the employee is a senior, the supplemental pension plan rate will be 2.4% (Ceiling amount 1,296,000 F CFA). Ceiling amount: if the gross salary is less than the ceiling amount, we will take the gross salary, if not the ceiling amount will be taken into consideration.
IPM:
Monthly contribution of employee: 10 000 F CFA if the cover rate is 100% The Employer has to pay the following legal charges:

it is legal contribution for family benefits and accident insurance its rate is 12% of 63, 000CFA (7,560 F CFA per month)
IPM:
it is mutual health for the employee and his family illness. Supported rate is 100% of health care. Monthly contribution of employer =30 000 F CFA
CFCE:
It is legal tax employer has to pay for each employee; its rate is 3% of taxable gross salary.
LEAVE ALLOWANCES:
It is the legal annual leave allowance to pay for any unused leave for the employee after 12 months of duty. It is computed as follows: total 12 taxable gross salaries divided by 12.
END OF CONTRACT ALLOWANCES:
It is the legal allowance to pay for the employee when his or her contract has come to an end; the rate is 7% of cumulated gross salary. Leave allowances as well as end of contract allowances can/will be paid in due time.
